Eco-Friendly Bamboo Floor

I’ve been looking for bamboo flooring. I want something that is eco-friendly. I want to use sustainable resources. I know that wood takes approximately 15-20 years to reach maturity and that the non-harmful harvesting of bamboo takes just 3 to 5 years.

As well as being environmentally sound, eco-friendly bamboo flooring is competitively priced and easy to fit. My parents think that wood flooring will always be superior to bamboo flooring. I think that the ease of fitting is always a worry for the prospective purchaser. There are three different methods for installing bamboo flooring. This is the floating floor, the secret nailing method and literally gluing the bamboo to a sub-floor.

During my research, I found that bamboo flooring is one of the hardest natural materials available for flooring. This is what makes it an excellent alternative to hardwood flooring. Bamboo has a higher fiber rating than any hardwood. This is what gives bamboo flooring such exceptional hard wearing qualities.

Natural eco-friendly bamboo flooring solutions are available in four different styles. All of the styles compliment any interior design. This includes ultra contemporary chic through to a more traditional classic style. I like natural bamboo flooring because once my floor is installed; it will give me a truly unique look.

Bamboo flooring is manufactured from the bamboo plant. The majority of today's bamboo flooring products originate in China and other portions of Asia. The species of bamboo used for bamboo flooring is known as "Moso". To make bamboo flooring, the bamboo is split and flattened.

After the bamboo for bamboo flooring is split and flattened, it is laminated together with glue under high pressure. Bamboo flooring is known for its resistance to insects and to moisture. There is quite of lot of recent attention being paid to bamboo flooring.

I heard about bamboo flooring first from its popularity with the green building council. I want to make less of an impact on the earth with the choices that I make. One of my choices right now is that I want a new floor and I'm glad I have chosen eco-friendly bamboo flooring.
