HOW TO MAKE THE MASTER CLEANSE:

2 Tablespoons lemon or limejuice (approx. ½ lemon)
2 Tablespoons genuine maple syrup grade B or C (Not maple
flavored sugar syrup)
1/10 Teaspoon cayenne pepper (red pepper) or to taste
8 oz water, room temperature
Combine the juice, maple syrup, and cayenne pepper in a 10
oz glass jar w/lid and fill with the water.
Shake it up and drink. (Cold water may be used if
preferred.)
Use fresh (organic) lemons or limes only, never canned lemon
or limejuice nor frozen lemonade or frozen juice.
The recipe is for a single serving of lemonade, and you
should drink 8-12 servings a day.
You can also make up a big batch by multiplying that recipe by however many
servings you plan on drinking.
Just make sure you keep it refrigerated, and don't make more then one days
supply because you want the lemonade to be as fresh as possible when you
drink it.
You might be wondering about how the lemonade tastes. The cayenne pepper is
a real concern for some people, but the lemonade is surprisingly tasty.
The cayenne pepper gives the lemonade a nice kick.
The lemon or lemonade diet as it is called is
actually a detox and was first described in the book the "Master
Cleanse" by Stanley Burroughs in 1976. The method has since been
revived and made popular by Peter Glickman in his book

Many people utilise this program once a year to
cleanse their systems but is not recommended for prolonged usage.
Beyonce Knowles from Destiny's Child is one famous
proponent of the program.
Although this is a simple program in outline the
recommended period to follow this is 10 days.
Many people experience problems being able to stay on
the program for this length of time but the people who do swear by the
experience. The cleansing and detoxifying effect is supposed to clear
out the colon and digestive tract releasing and removing impurities from
the body. Stories of tarry substances being passed.
It has also been claimed that the program can cure
many illnesses such as ulcers by its cleansing affects.
Now most people will take that recipe and jump right
in to the Master Cleanse.
That's a big mistake. There's more to the Master Cleanse then the
average person might think and it's harder to do the full ten days than
people think.
