RCI timeshares refers
to timeshares brokered by
Resort Condominiums
International. Resort
Condominiums International
is a subsidiary of the
Cendant corporation. Resort
Condominiums International
is the largest broker of
timeshare trades.
The catalog of properties
which Resort Condominiums
International maintains is
very extensive. Members do
find that many properties
listed will have little or
no availability when they
are looking to trade their
owned RCI timeshares.
The giant Resort
Condominiums International
book of properties is also
frequently used by timeshare
salespeople. They use this
book when trying to inform
new clients about certain
resorts into which they
should purchase. RCI
timeshares are pushed by
these salespeople.
I did quite a bit of
research for my parents when
they were approached to buy
one of the RCI timeshares. I
wish I knew then what I know
now. Now I tell people if
they need timeshare info
while they are planning a
trip somewhere, especially
if they are looking for RCI
timeshares to read Jason
Tremblay’s Timeshare Blog.
In his blog, Jason Tremblay
discusses timeshare
transfer, timeshare brokers,
general timeshare info, and,
of course, RCI timeshares. I
did some reading in his blog
and found some very useful
information. My parents
ended up owning their
timeshare longer than they
wanted to.
I wish I had known more
about RCI timeshares
and donating timeshares to
charity. I would have been a
lot more help to my parents.
In my defense, they bought
their RCI timeshares years
before the internet was as
integral to life as it is
now.
RCI timeshares are great if
you have the time to use it
every year. Too many times,
vacations are foregone and
not taken. RCI timeshares
all over the world sit
vacant waiting for
vacationers to stay. It
truly is a buyer’s market
and once you buy one of the
RCI timeshares, you are
indeed stuck with it.
